Angela Bandurka Hoskins

artist bio

Angela was born in British Columbia, Canada, and comes from a multi-generational family of passionate artists. She started drawing as a child and completed her first commissioned portrait at 15. After 12 years of corporate experience as a Graphic Artist and Art Director for companies like Costco, RealNetworks and Garrigan Lyman, Angela started painting full-time. Subjects in her work are outlined with bright, modern colors. These colors are chosen to enhance the setting and tell an emotional story. Angela makes her home in the Pacific Northwest.

"To me, paintings are much more than simply a reproduction of an object or scene, they are an opportunity to capture a glimpse into the lives of the people around us. These subjects come to life on paper first, then canvas. I use perspective, composition and colour as tools to tell the story. My job as an artist is to simply translate the beauty so that we all might be inspired."
