Parklane Gallery presents its all-artists salon show hung in the French Academy tradition. Established in 1648, the French Academy was trained and promoted art students through exhibitions known as “Salons.” By 1737, these shows were so popular with so many artists submitting entries that works had to be hung utilizing every inch of wall space available. Following in the style of the French Academy salon, Parklane Gallery artists will hang their work from floor to ceiling, from wall to wall, and with very little space in-between -- an old tradition brought back to life transports you to another place and time at Galerie Parklane. |
