Hilda Bordianu

I was born in Transylvania (Romania). As a child I enjoyed drawing and painting. When my mother suggested I attend an art school, my father discouraged such an idea as unpractical. So I attended high school and went on to earn a university degree in economics. However, the gray world of numbers gave no satisfaction.

When my family and I moved to the United States in January of 2000, I found myself searching for fulfillment. So I enrolled in a local painting class. It was as if I was born again. The oil medium particularly drew me in. The blending of the colors, the smoothness of the textures, gave me pleasure. No longer am I constrained to a profession imperfect way the beauty of the world created by God.
