From reading some and studying art
To draw and paint I got my start;
And from essentially being self-taught
I learned on my own what I ought or ought not
To me there is a serious side,
Besides my art, I will confide.
I love the world, but can’t it see
The miracles of Liberty?
In fretfulness it takes the bait,
And so perpetuates the State.
To try to make the world more free,
I study praxeology.
And learn to speak it from the heart
To live together, not apart.
There’s only so much I can do;
The rest I practice to be true.
So living life less seriously,
I learn to find the fool in me.
And searching what in life is sweeter,
Like writing this bio in rhyme and meter.
I love to cook, a creative escape;
If only to perfect the crêpe!
And from a world that’s fast and frantic,
I play piano of an era romantic.
Rachmaninoff and Ravel I thank,
Debussy, Scriabin and Poulenc.
For this introvert it’s vital
Playing an occasional recital.
I’ll teach you to draw on sliding tuition,
And paintings painted by commission.
From me to you, I try to reach,
With painting, music or a speech.
And as I write more than I say,
Have an extraordinary day.
