Jay Levey
The “SPACE” portion of the show was based on his artistic rendering of photographs from the Hubble Telescope. These are presented on large Resin Art panels. There is no doubt of the WOW effect when the viewer encounters these panels. The glass like sheen of the resin surface and the sparkle of the embedded fused glass create a unique artwork. Jay's interest in space comes from his work as an engineer on projects such as the Space Station and Space Shuttle Main Rocket Engines. The “WATER” part of the show consists of landscapes containing the beauty of water and its many uses. Again, his Resin Art is used to create unique renderings of real and abstract waterscapes. Jay still creates artworks on Mixed Media Raku Ceramics and Fused Glass. His sculptural approach to Ceramics and the Raku glazing process results in textured wall hangings of brilliant colors and metallic sheen. His varied engineering and arts background has led him to the development of these distinctive mediums. Recent Shows:
Education includes various drawing, sculpture and ceramic classes at UCLA, Jewish Theological Seminary, and Florida Atlantic University. He has a degree in Engineering and a M.B.A. in Industrial Management. Works appear in various private collections and completed commissions
