Cheryl Waale
After studying design and fine art at San Jose University, I worked as a graphic designer for many years before changing direction and settling on a long career in education and psychology. In 2006, I returned to my first love of fine art and am pursuing it full time and with great delight. Whatever the subject, my work is inspired by geometry of nature--how shape, color, and texture have the power to speak with a universal language-one that breaks down the boundaries of place, time or culture. I find inspiration by spending time with my incredibly supportive husband, my adorable (and brilliant!) grandson, my children—all creative in their own right, my two lap-dogs, and my encouraging friends and family. I also nurture my creativity through critique and support groups and by traveling, reading, and daydreaming. |
