As part of the vibrant Kirkland art gallery community, artist-owned Parklane Gallery has been a touchstone for artists and fine art lovers since 1991. We offer the best of the Northwest's contemporary artists. With a dedicated group of forty-plus established and emerging artists, Parklane brings new and original works to the Kirkland and Seattle fine arts community each month.

As one of many Kirkland art galleries, Parklane Gallery provides uncommon access to fine art and artists of the Northwest. Many of our artists will gladly provide personal consultations on art selection, framing, presentation, and preservation.

"DELICATE BALANCE"

Bodies ebb and flow as oceans, they stretch and climb as trees and move together to form undulating landscapes appearing to be at one with nature when, in fact, they are a quiet demonstration of how our every action and intervention influences and often disrupts the balance in nature. These are the works of oil painter, YIOTA GEORGAS.

"THE FORESTER'S DAUGHTER"

Taking inspiration from forests and fields of the Pacific Northwest, encaustic painter, JOY HAGEN, creates multi-layered and assembled landscapes using reclaimed wood scraps. "I am so blessed to be surrounded by a forest of significant trees and woodland paths right in my own backyard where I can reflect upon the subtle interplay of light and shadow with peek-a-boo views and terrain. Therein lays the path to my creativity."

Encaustic medium is Joy's preferred method of exploring her environment. Melted bees wax mixed with resin crystals is her medium for color making and for painting. "The contrast of the physicality of process as I cut and prepare my reclaimed wood against the soft and sensuous nature of the wax medium adds a whole new element of enjoyment as I create my assembled pieces." The forester's daughter is revealed in landscapes of many paths from which to explore, much like a walk in the woods.
