GUEST ARTIST:
Dawn Rogal, 3-D Felt Creations
Dawn Rogal grew up on the prairies in Canada but found her home and her artistic voice in the Pacific Northwest. Since January of 2008 Dawn has worked as a printmaker incorporating her background in fiber work to make unique prints that are stitched, quilted and embellished by hand. Today Dawn continues to insist that she is a printmaker although she works almost exclusively in the 3D realm of plush or soft sculpture. Dawn is also a mom to two kids and a wife to a full-time engineering director/ part-time movie producer and writer. She prefers art to housework.
Dawn's felt works have been selected as part of the Plush You! show at Schmancy and Fancy in Seattle this October. She has participated in solo and group shows as a printmaker in the greater Seattle area including The Building in West Seattle, the Kirkland Arts Center and local coffee shops.
Dawn is represented by Fusions Art Gallery in Ocean Shores, WA and the Kirkland Arts Center Store in Kirkland, WA. Her work has been selected the past two years for inclusion in the Pratt Fine Arts Center charity auction. In addition she has donated a variety of works for charitable auctions in support of The Kirkland Choral Society, Phantom Lake Elementary School, The Children’s Academy and the Kirkland Arts Center. This year her donation to KAC’s REDUX is a finalist for the William Radcliffe Studio Challenge.
Her solo show at Parklane Gallery runs through January 1st
